Photobook Workshop at the Goethe Institut in Lagos / Nigeria
In September 2015, the director of the Goethe Institut in Lagos, Marc-André Schmachtel kindly invited me to run a Photobook Workshop at the institute. The workshop took place during and as one part of the new Photofestival Lagos Open Range, dedicated to Nigerian photography.
A huge 'thank you' to all of the dedicated participants I had the pleasure to work with. I enjoyed your commitment, your curiosity and discussion culture, and your willingness to experiment different ways of doing photobooks ('something is burning in here').
Most of the series the photographers worked with can not be separated from the book design, and they work a lot better in book context, with the chosen paper and different image sizes. Here is one out of the seven slideshows without this context:
