We all create our own narratives; we need them to connect with others, to define and affirm our existence. But as we tell the story and place the events into context, do we share the “true” version of the narrative? To what extent is the narrative genuinely true and reliable and what is myth? This series of images explores the elusive nature of truth and memory and took place at the corner of “once upon a time” and “nowhere in particular”.
An unreliable narrator is a narrator whose credibility has been compromised. This narrative mode can be developed by an author to “reveal in an interesting way the gap between appearance and reality, and to show how human beings distort or conceal the latter.” (David Lodge, *The Art of Fiction)
